I like the Canadian side better, because you can see both falls (like we can see the American ones dead on), and there's more stuff to do in the town.
Yeah, I think Western Canada is very much like Washington and Oregon (especially BC), and parts of Alberta and Saskatchewan are probably very similar in climate and landscape to Montana, as they are also situated in the Great Plains. But I'm not entirely sure - I've never been out that way.
When I think of the West, I think prairies, mountains, deserts, awesome landscapes... all of it. We don't really have any of that out here
