I'm guessing you're not a fan of punk, but you should check out some of the debut albums by some of the lesser known punks bands of the time, such as The Saints and The Dead Boys these are great albums that often get overshadowed by the better known punk acts and usually get very good reviews. "Young, Loud and Snotty" is one of the best punk albums.
lots of great bands from that time which arent as big as they should be. Stiff Little Fingers, The Vibrators, The Dead Boys, The Toy Dolls.... list goes on and on.
