Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001)
A lot better than I was expecting it to be. The CGI for the wolf was pretty lame, even for it's time but the fight scenes were very well choreographed despite this weird habit the director had of doing the Zack Synder thing where the camera goes really fast, then slows down, then goes fast again. The film had a deep, intricate plot with a lot of intrigue and reminded me of other films set in that era (or around it) like
From Hell (2001) and
Sleepy Hollow (1999). The acting and script were pretty solid and there was a decent amount of nudity. My only real problem is the film kind of devolves from this tense thriller/ mystery and into this Church conspiracy to the point where it could easily be two films. Overall though it's a solid movie if you're looking for something different.
