To me, this will fail on musical merits. Expectations are too high.
the Beatles grew up in public, from the crazy club days to all the rest. Their attitude developed right from those early days, striving to become popular and having the belief that they will overcome a lot of obstacles which were plenty in the time before Rock turned into a big business (many people in the industry were possibly were waiting for that "bubble to burst" then). This will never have that time and they can always fall back on their private lives if this fails. The talent may be there, but in my opinion certainly not the aggressiveness to move forward.
I expect the music to be mediocre at best, possibly better than what's popular now enough to have a following of people liking them with a lot of Modern Day attempts at slick Psychedelia to cover up the weakness in the actual music.
It's an idea that had to happen I guess, but to me it's more news-worthy than anything good.
