I really like how the beatles weren't indulgent with their music. Maybe it's because they were short "pop" songs, but regardless of what you wan to call it their song were very tight, well written and executed. Every little keyboard or guitar solo was well calculated, not a note that didn't count. Some musicians get so indulgent and play so many notes, you really could go without some of those notes that become part of the big mush of non-melodic pieces of music. The beatles made every note count, kinda like BB king.
