Any band that can't play live what they make in the studio isn't worth my time. I don't want to see a band play exactly like the studio version, but the music should be able to stand on it's own.
Example, if the truck transporting the theatric part of GWAR's show was delayed and they had to perform without it, the concert would be nothing like what they usually do, and the music would be lame without all the BS.
I recently saw the Codetalkers (do a google) at a small outdoor venue on a night when it was storming very heavily. Did they cancel? No, they went acoustic and provided the small crowd with a one-of-a-kind show to remember. That's what it's all about.
