I had a chance to see that lineup and missed it... I don't think he's actually recorded anything with them though. Friend went, said it was amazing and Iggy is bat **** crazy live despite being like 50 something.

Edit: He did record an album with the Stooges. A few actually, it looks like. At least one of which was produced by Steve Albini and thoroughly despised by lolpitchforklol.

Firehose was his second (out of a lot, according to wiki) project if I'm not mistaken, started as an accident when some kid from the middle of nowhere heard a rumor that they were gonna replace Boon after the car crash. I have the first three albums- they have more of a folk-ish vibe and the guitars aren't as dissonant compared to Boon's. I actually like Watt's voice more than Boon's voice , it's a lot more mellow. They pretty much just ditched hardcore completely.

He's toured solo under a bunch of different names with a bunch of different people supporting him. Sort of as a supergroup except Watt was adamently the leader. I don't have anything from any of these bands so... no comment.

Edit: Found this one on youtube. I like the message. Bass playing isn't really as exciting as other stuff Watt has done.


He recorded an album or two with Banyan, another supergroup. I had the first album and haven't listened to it in ages. If I recall correctly it was REALLY proggy and thus not really my thing.

A video of them live. That guitar sounds like a wacked out horn of some kind. Kinda neat I guess. The bass playing is cool too. Just a little too out there for my tastes.



Then there's DOS, a two piece with his wife. T'was mentioned before that she also was one of many bassists for Black Flag. Henry Rollins apparently hated her, idk why but he said so in an interview I saw. In "Our Band Could Be your Life" (after the line in History Lesson pt.2) I think it was stated that she quit for personal differences and to study at UCLA. It's just the two basses. I had the album with the two blue P-basses and remember kinda liking it and kinda finding it boring. Still, chops-ridden bass playin fer sho I'm sure.

Edit: I kinda like this song. It's the first one I found. Given that it's just two basses and vocals it's kinda hard to tell who's playing what. At times it sounds like there's synthesizers but that might just be a pedal or something. My guess is Kira is the one playing the sludgey parts while Watt is playing the other stuff. Looks like it was a P-Bass and a Rick', oh well I was half right.


He also did some bass work with Off With Their Heads on a split they did with Discharge. I've never been a fan of Discharge and never got around to checking out OWTH so... I don't have it and haven't heard it or anything about it.

There's a collective ep Minutemen did with Black Flag called Minuteflag. It's pretty friggen weird. Boon's singing.




I wasn't there but supposedly and understandably many didn't. The movie mentioned, We Jam Econo, is available in full on youtube. They got heckled a LOT. At one point I think Watt says something to the extent of the band seeing punk rock as a way for weirdos to experiment and do their own thing with music instead of being rock stars.
