I wasn't really a big fan, but I gave the Monkees their due a long time ago. When they first charted "Last Train To Clarksville" around October of 1966, they had a song on the charts pretty much the the next two years. By 1969 those hits pretty much stopped. If I had a favorite song of those I would probably go with "Listen To The Band." Though Jones had a couple solo lp's away from the Monkees, it was Mike Nesmith who no doubt had the most activity regarding a musical career after the Monkees called it a day Some nice lp's out of him.
