I found this a pretty difficult album to assess because it`s a beautifully constructed example of a style I don`t much like. So while I`m trying to make up my mind about it, I hope you don`t mind if I cherry-pick some comments you guys made that IMO describe the album particularly well:-

Metals can be both uplifting at times and despairing at times. But overall this album reminds me that we as human beings can experience a multitude of emotions.

It sure sounds like a grower ...
"The Circle Married the Line" is an interesting way of looking at things. Most of the lyrics are also often quite poetic and that I like.

^ Yes, and I really like the deadpan way she delivers this powerful put-down:-
When you comfort me.
Doesn`t bring me comfort actually
At first listen, I prefered the livelier tracks that had more going on musically; the slower ones reminded me rather of Norah Jones, with whom I have already maxed-out on bitter-sweet female reminiscences. At any event, I`ll definitely be playing this album again.
