Regarding MegaUpload:
Guys, the childish scare-mongering is annoying. Believe it or not (which I know is not easy to accept these days with NDA, PIPA, and SOPA on the horizon), the government is not out to get you.
Regardless of which country Megaupload is based in, and regardless of which country those arrested are citizens of, they either committed or facilitated theft of intellectual property that belonged to copyright holders in the United States. Furthermore, the US received permission from NZ to make the arrests-- they aren't "policing the world". Most countries have an agreement with the US saying they will honor US copyrights, and they give the US jurisdiction in US copyright infringements.
And lastly, one of Megaupload's servers is based in Virginia, which uncoincidentally is where the indictment originated.
