I think Satomi's vocals work well as an additional instrument from time to time, but I tend to agree that the rapid time-shifts are the real compelling aspect of Deerhoof's music. They are truly just four people who, together, manage to sound fantastic together. Beyond the first album, there are few tunes from the band I dislike, and they just seem to keep getting stronger with age.
