That's what I always liked about Stereolab. The fact that people view them as a band without the women being singled out for being women. It feels genuine, you know? I've always thought Mary and Laetitia were quite pretty, but I don't think I've ever greatly emphasized it to the point where their appearance was more important than the contributions they were giving.

My Bloody Valentine was more of a one man show though, with Kevin greatly overpowering Belinda's guitar parts in a live setting, it feels like Belinda is often under the influence of Kevin who's telling her exactly what to do. There have been reports that Belinda is actually quite the guitarist now, and her skill outdoes Kevin, but that's just all hearsay.
