I think it's natural .. Those who know Premiata probably got into them somewhat late in their prog exploration and, when asked what their favourite 70s prog band
of all time is, people tend to vote/mention/think of bands they have a long history with.
It's not my favourite prog band
right now, but I still went with Pink Floyd in this poll. Even if I don't listen to them as much as I used to, it's the band I've been a fan of the longest.
