I'm going with this one. I'm extremely obsessive compulsive, and sometimes feel the need to listen to as many artists as I ever hear about, not just in the hope of finding another one that really appeals to me and makes experiences more enjoyable, but also for the sake of actually hearing them.
I'm not trying to impress anyone, if I was then that wouldn't be obsessive compulsive.

You could probably divine from this that I don't really enjoy listening to new music for the sake of art. That might have some truth in it, since a lot of the music I really enjoy comes from some of the predictable old timers, Led Zep, Eric Clapton etc, but I do occasionally find something from the past that is fading into obscurity, like Blind Beck or Lemon Jefferson, or a newer artist that is really igniting a new spark, like Wilco.

Overall, it's perhaps a ridiculous waste of time for something I get such little pleasure out of, but I think that my psychology makes that unavoidable.
