For me, this album provides a very solitary listening experience. Melancholy is a feeling I'm comfortable with, and actually quite enjoy, so this ticks all the right boxes for me. My favourite albums are those that have a depth to them, and it's the depth of Alone I Admire that allows me to fully immerse myself in the music.
As I said in my write up, it's a piece that evokes a feeling of isolation - a sense of detachment - and I'm one of those people that often needs such an escape. Bills, rent, social anxiety, fears about the future... They all temporarily disappear from my thought process, replaced by these romantic notions of a wintery evening. That's why I personally find it so satisfying - it's a release, it stirs the mind, cleansing it of its impurities and putting things into perspective.
