I would assume the quantity of MLP rule 34 has something to do with its less than tasteful links with 4chan. I'd be careful of painting every "brony" with the same brush, the dark side of the fanbase only covers a small minority.

Wait, a show that doesn't agree with your tastes in media is gathering a larger fanbase than a show that does? this shouldn't go unpunished! that's the general vibe I'm getting here.
Besides the show, the fanbase also tends to have a lot of creativity, and I would honestly like to see this much dedication within the fanbase of other shows I enjoy watching, and if that makes me, as you so kindly put it "f***ing retarded" then so be it.
