Sexiest Member (Female): Without a doubt, MB’s favorite lustful southern belle, 6Underground.

Most Inane: Mighty Salami. Sorry kid but I can’t seem to open a thread these days without bumping into one of your strange unsubstantial posts. The real award goes to s_k, though. It’s been explained why a bunch of times here already. You earned it man.

Most Enigmatic: skaltezon. I don’t understand your period usage and I can’t tell who you are at all but you know your baroque music and I dig the few other posts I’ve seen you make.

Angriest Member: lucifer_sam. A lot of the anger seems a bit manufactured but it’s always pretty … angry. I recently read that he gave up his dope-smoking so maybe that’s why some of his latest outbursts have been so loud.

Biggest Drama Whore: They’re all the same size. You’re either a drama whore or you’re not.

Nicest Member: Maybe she hasn’t been very nice to a lot of you assholes but 2011 has been the worst year of my life and Tumor was consistently there for me whenever I asked her to be and she always tried to help me out no matter how ridiculously self-pitying and drunk I got. This one goes to her.

Best Debater: Tore wins the argument literally every time. Even if I enjoyed debating on the Internet, I’d never take him on.

Worst Debater: A dime a dozen around here.

Best Writer: There are many. Janszoon gets a nod for the evocative writing in his 25 Albums journal. Pedestrian epitomizes good diction and grammar. Stu expresses his opinions and other contributions as well as or better than everybody else.

Biggest Virtuoso: Last year Freebase Dali won this I think (?) because of some of his music he posted on which he sang in a way that made me cringe. This year he posted some “music he totally made” sans vocals and I really like it. It’s strange to base this on one song but there ya go, I nominate him. Janszoon once (not this year) posted a link to an entire electronic album that he made and I really like it. I hope he makes/posts more. Also, I haven’t checked out a lot of what others have done so this isn’t a putdown of anybody else’s music.

Smartest Poster: Janszoon, Urban Hatemonger, and Freebase Dali. Don’t fuck with any of these guys if you value your credential.

Funniest Member: Same three as above plus Tumor.

Best Mediator: Even though it often comes across as a scared child begging mommy and daddy to stop fighting, Jack Pat often puts in an effort to cool things down.

Biggest Troll: Same as the drama whores – all the same size to me.

Biggest Contributor: This year it was Pedestrian. She’s the new Tore.

Most Improved Member: I don’t remember why exactly but when Jack Pat first joined he seemed to me like a kid who was probably picked on or ignored in school and dealt with it by cracking open a case of Mountain Dew and venting on an Internet forum. A year later and he seems more sophisticated and truly in love with music than a lot of posters. So he gets this.

Most Underrated Poster: Shoutout to Sparky who makes this place more fun than it would be without him. Oh, almost forgot, loose_lips_sink_ships routinely goes unnoticed.

Most Mainstream Music Taste: dunno

Most Obscure Music Taste: This feels unfair to the many people with vast musical knowledge here but the usual suspects I guess: bob. and Stu.

Best Music Taste: This one’s really too difficult because so many posters here have such good taste. What really interests me is when I feel a connection to a poster’s taste even when I really don’t like the same music they like. For instance, I don’t love a lot of post-rock but I know TheFolkslave has got that genre locked down. Same with CanwllCorfe and his black metal, and Hip Hop Bunny Hop's thrash, grind, and death metal. Whenever I open youtube links they post I enjoy it even if I know I’ll never listen to it again because it’s not really my thing.

Biggest Music Nerd: We’re all so nerdy it’s ridiculous to try to choose.

Best Thread Starter: I guess I rarely notice who starts threads. I know Sparky and Stu start threads on musicians that other people wouldn’t so … them?

Thread of the Year: I’ve probably ignored the majority of them so I don’t feel qualified to say.

Journal of the Year: Janszoon’s 25 Albums, Pedestrian’s Crosswalking, and _____’s 1960 met 1963 is also a fun read. Honorable mentions to CanwllCorfe, Trollheart, Stu, Zer0, and bob.

Moderator of the Year: I can’t nominate people for things that I don’t even know that they’ve done.
