Haha that's a great "How we met" story. Actually somewhat similar to one of my rejection stories that I told on here a while ago, but with a different outcome.

I don't know if this is a "worst" rejection story, but it's a unique one.
Last year I was walking up a set of stairs to one of my classes with a coffee in my hand. There was a girl walking up the stairs right in front of me. I caught my foot on a stair and stumbled upwards, and my coffee spilled all over her pants. Literally not one drop on me, but it went all over her.
So at first I was just like "I am SO sorry!", which I said a bunch of times, and offered to pay for her to get her pants cleaned. She was obviously shocked/upset a bit but overall didn't seem too bothered with it and said that it was a mistake and I didn't have to pay for anything. I was mortified though, and was just thinking in my head what I could say to make it up to her. So I said, "No, seriously, that was terrible. Maybe I take you to dinner sometime?"
It would have sounded alot less retarded in my head... if I had thought about it beforehand. It kind of just slipped out. There was an awkward pause where we both thought about what I'd just said (and I actually got hopeful for a second; she was actually quite cute) and then she rejected me, but not in a mean way or anything. I'm assuming it was because it was phrased like a pity date... or because I dumped an XL coffee on her.

It was before Timmy's got the upgraded cup sizes though, so it wasn't that bad.
