Dream Theater studied in Berkeley, Dream Theater are highly esteemed musicians, therefore they must be taken seriously

bollocks! where's the humour? i would like them more if they wore long flowing capes and sang about Middle Earth

i would like them more if their music were like Jap RPG combat music

but no, they're po-faces serious musicians for the "serious" listener

their only extent of self-deprecation was when they covered the Super Mario theme (that's only one instance)

which is why I prefer stuff like KISS

they're objectively kinda crap but they don't take themselves seriously at all

or Justin Bieber
