Sunny Day Real Estate - Diary (1994)
Felt the need to start exploring some earlier emo so I figured this album was a must have. I'm liking this, the production has a nice raw feel to it and the vocals sound pained and expressive without sounding too nauseating. Some damn good songs on this such as 'Seven', 'In Circles' and 'The Blankets Were The Stairs'.
Northern Picture Library - Alaska (1993)
The band formed by Bobby Wratten and Annemari Davies after the break up of The Field Mice. This album has a more dream-pop sound and is more experimental and ambient compared to the more accessible indie-pop of The Field Mice. 'Catholic Easter Colours' is must say is a brilliant tune.
St. Vincent - Strange Mercy (2011)
Not really too impressed with this. There's some interesting instrumentation here and there but nothing really in particular grabs my attention. Doesn't seem to be as good as Actor but maybe a few more listens will reveal more.
