They have a Pro circuit and tour all over the country going to different places. Mostly big cities: NYC, Las Vegas and I think they stop by LA as well.

It has actually gotten to be much more of a big deal in the past year. Forbes and The New York Times have both done articles on it at this point. And I know it sounds silly, but watch at least one well-casted match and you will be hooked. I know a lot of girls who initially stick their noes up at sc2 that got hooked after watching a few games.
The live tournaments are popular as you get to meet a lot of the players and watching the game with a bunch of other people is like watching a football game live-- the tension, the drama, the upsets, all of it is there, it is just a different sport.
