Di Canio ready to laugh in rival manager's face
Paolo Di Canio has taunted Crawley manager Steve Evans by insisting he will “laugh in his face”.
Swindon boss Di Canio goes head to head with Evans on Tuesday in a League Two clash.
The Crawley gaffer had previously branded Di Canio’s reign at Swindon as a “circus” following the Italian’s bust-up with striker Leon Clarke.
But Di Canio has snapped back and says he is not afraid of facing Evans, as he has played in front of the Italian Mafia.
“I’ve never heard his name but there are a million people in the world that don’t like me. He is one of many," said Di Canio.
“I don’t speak about him because I don’t know him, I’ve never heard his name. How can I speak about him?
"I will go there and do exactly the same job I do in the County Ground because I’m not worried about anybody.
“I’ve played in front of Mafia people. People like him make me laugh – I laugh in the face of them. I laughed in the face of 70,000 Manchester United fans when I scored.
“You could imagine what it would be like if I was worried by the words of him, who I’ve never heard of before.”
He might be a mental fascist loving Italian hothead, but I love the guy
