I won't begin to understand or explain the many intricacies that cause people to riot but no matter what is happening as of now I.E the looting of electrical and sports apparel stores, there is no denying the coincidence of the rioting compared to the early 80's when the same political party was in residence.
The rioting taking place ATM is 95% thuggery and an excuse for people to gain spoils but there IS something wrong somewhere in this whole thing.
Saying that we don't live in some tyrannical dictatorship is entirely correct but we as a nation have been fortunate to have not lived in that sort of regime for a long while but does this mean then that we shouldn't have a voice or put up with a clear financial crisis that is genuinely affecting people on street level?
I am NOT justifying these riots whatsoever. I find them deplorable especially after following news channels tonight and finding out that everyday working class people have lost their homes having to flee but skim the fat off the milk regarding the idiots out there for personal gain and you will find there is growing discontent amongst the British public regarding this country.
There is so much wrong with these riots and there is no excuse for them but this is not mere coincidence regarding political times at all.
Is London a safe place overall? Yes? does it have a legitimate place amongst the worlds elite cities in terms of commerce and tourism? Yes. Is it a well organised and productive city? No. It is a mess that just happens to be covered up by the sheer financial presence it can muster.
I do not endorse these riots at all but since Cameron came into power we have returned to the multiple strikes, public protests and riots of the 80's. This is not coincidence and the exact same looting and thuggery was rife then too.
