Haha, actually the bathroom already was like that!
And about the green, well, to be honest.
My ex-girlfriend got my studio when she lived here. She needed a room for herself so I gave up mine. Got a pic of it here:
So it's her who liked that colour and when she moved out I decided to keep it and I somehow grew attached to it. It's somehow soothing.
We still had that bucket of paint and it was still in good nick, so we just used it again

Your dad's stairs look very sturdy. What a labor of love! I remember how my dad designed and made a lamp for me to study with in my room. I always loved that lamp (it was a good design, created such that it never glared in my eyes) and the emotions that went behind those actions of his as he worked to make it.

I love the stairs. They're pretty wide and that's very practical as I carry a lot of big stuff (mostly audio) up and down the stairs. And I can't believe how fast that old guy (he's 63) fixed this thing. It's brilliant. He's very proud of it himself, too.

Haha, the Dog is really sweet. She doesn't really like going to the place as she isn't quite used to it yet. But you can really see how she tries to be as nice as possible. It's really nice to see.
I myself am having a pretty hard time as... well... I sort of found out that I'm not really good at this. I can make coffee and be witty. But I should stay out of the way when people start working. Makes me feel stupid every now and then, but I'm getting used to seeing people work for me. It feels wrong, but they really want me to stay away. They don't mind working though! They're just great.
The sprinkles on the cake, well, I wanted to bake a pie with Fleur (my ex-girlfriend who you see on the pictures with the cake
) to celebrate my new house, but it wasn't practical there yet. So we baked croissants and we decorated an existing cake. Almost the same.

Haha, well to be honest I wanted to start doing the garden when the house was finished. Nothing is definitive yet. I'm sure going to keep the sunflower. But the rest is only temporary. There will be a bigger terrace and there will be a pond. I will also build a little shed (about where the poppy's are, they were already there
) for my lawnmower, bike and gardening tools. There will be some grass and around the pond and against the fence there will be plants and flowers. I like plants. I'm just not very good at keeping them alive and I hate to see them die. So I really have to be careful at what I'm going to put in my garden. Luckily my parents are very good at this. We've always had beautiful gardens

I wouldn't call it narrow, but perhaps it's different there.
There's indeed, as we call it 'bike suggestion lanes' next to the road. You are allowed to drive on them with your car, but they mark the area where a bike an drive relatively safely.
The house itself isn't that special from the outside, but it's in a really nice neighbourhood indeed.

That odd flying saucer like building wasn't anywhere near. A friend of mine works there. It's called the "Evoluon". You might want to look that up. We had to go there to get a loooot of coax-cable for my radio and TV reception throughout the house

The bathroom with the roll-in shower/wet floor is an excellent feature to have in a home so that people of all ages can use it. Are you having any grab bars installed? I just thought I'd recommend it in case you hadn't thought of having grab bars installed to improve safety.

Not sure about grab bars yet. May be handy. I will make a glass panel there though, so I won't get the entire room wet. I will make it along the whole width of the bathroom so I don't have a small shower like most people do. I'm a big guy, so that's not very practical for me

Everyone likes the house. It has some sort of appeal to it. It's not spectacular, but it's light and it feels good. I think it's called 'feng shui'. I'm very sensitive to that.
