Hello, I've been looking for a new music forum lately and I thought this seemed like a good place with plenty of knowledge to go around. I'm currently dj assistant for a "world" music show at a local radio station, and have worked at a music history museum in Seattle in the past.

I live in the US but listen to a fairly wide selection of music from all over the world. A few of my favorite genres include rap francais (french hip hop), Malian folk music, and jazz hop, though I also have an affinity for downtempo/ambient music, jazz, and various others.

I have to say I'm a bit confused as to why the international music section is locked, and would like to know if there is a reason for that or not.
