Now that I think about it, if Disturbed had a second guitarist the band could have gone so much further. I think it could have put them in a different league, as the other musicians in the band were technically competent.

Donegan is ranked within certain popular guitar polls taken, I personally like his innovative effects and dynamics aspect as a guitarist more so, than him being a renowned technical guitarist.
Disturbed with a second guitarist? I can really see your point and there might be something to it, if..they had--had one. But at the same time, I personally like Disturbed as a 3-piece band. They are one of my favorite, awesome live. Their driving bassist and kick ass drumming is the heart & soul of Disturbed sound.
