Electronica has been the next big thing for the past 3 years or so and it's continuing down that route.
All genres are adopting and fusing it in some way from R&B artists to Hip Hop artists.
So to answer your question, yes it's becoming Pop at the moment because that's what the radio is playing, it's popular and people seem to want to hear more of it.
