yes, this helps... and the other suggestions too. thanks.

the advantage is that i don't hate all pop music. i just don't prefer it. i just searched my ipod for what's in there. everyone has random stuff there right? i got some of the music he listens to and tried maroon 5 and the script. i find the script more bearable over maroon 5. i think they have more of a style than maroon 5.

yes, i think i'm going for something neutral. i want to make him feel comfortable. he's my boss and i am, most of the time, polite. so i'll go the extra mile and search for some bands whose sound is a bit more like the script. if you have suggestions, please keep it coming.

i'll let you know what happens.
