It's a silly thread that I don't feel needs to be closed because it doesn't break any rules but one that I personally find unnecessary. That's why a lot of couples make tapes of themselves I'm assuming.


Isn't part of being in a committed relationship with somebody saying "f*** that, you're the only one I want to be with"? That's how it is with me and how it is with many, many married people (and yes, believe it or not there are at least some marriages between responsible people that actually last).



The whole thing is, "natural" or not, monogamy is sought by people today because they want a life partner, someone who won't betray them, someone who they can put full trust and faith in. Sex is part of this. Monogamous people trust that their partners won't go around banging anything that walks. That's because all of the love and passion and romanticism and lust of one partner are entrusted to the other, forming a bond and yoking the two together in a beautiful display of human compassion. They belong to each other, and set aside their lust for others so as to demonstrate their love for one another. It's all in the spirit of self-sacrifice and it strengthens the trust between the two that they'll never love another.

By not watching porn when you're in a relationship with somebody, it demonstrates that you can control your biological lust for others and focus on the person who you love.


I'm not promoting this view over yours or saying that this is a better way to live, it's just the reason I personally don't watch porn when I'm committed to somebody (I even don't watch it to begin with) and why I'm assuming some women feel the same way.

Whatever, I'm just a romantic who believes in stupid things.
