You know, lot's of classical music was avantgarde to begin with. Stravinsky, Schoenberg, Boulez. They are practically the original avant-gardists. As with John Cage. Once again: This is completely ridiculous.
Hey, I never moved the thread. Plus you are right in saying that John Cage and his predecessors like Schoenberg were avant-garde in the classical tradition.
