I guess I can't say for sure if it's weird or not until I know if you liked the album in general. Actually, now I've got several questions and I ask because I am genuinely curious and I recognize arguing taste isn't going to accomplish much, but it is interesting. What is a good length for a blues rock record? And why should that vary (apparently) between genres? What is "too many songs"? 15 but not 14? 14 but not 13?

Blues rock is a very stripped-down, simple genre, especially the way the Black Keys play it.
Brothers is a pretty good album that is weighed down by the last few tracks and hence its overall length. I think 40 minutes, like their two best albums,
Thickfreakness and
Rubber Factory, is ideal. This isn't prog...
