I like the songs on Sung Tongs just fine, but I just can't get into the album as a whole. It just doesn't flow for me. The Softest Voice brings everything to a grinding halt, and Visiting Friends does not get the payoff that it requires. When Slippi explodes out of Two Sails On a Sound on ...Indian, it is one of my favorite musical moments ever. College, while a fine song, just does not work after Visiting Friends. With a different trackorder, it might have moved up on my list. As it is, I never really listen to it.
Strawberry Jam is just a great listen from start to finish. Derek might be their greatest ending track.
