I prefer the new Jay-z a bit more. I like how you can tell that he is older and he likes to experiment a bit more musically. The production on his newer material is far above anything in the past.

I would say from Kingdom Come on is his best material. The peak of his old material is probably The Black Album but don't get me wrong I do like some of his older material.

Well by old I mean from Blueprint forward. I haven't listened to anything of his older than Blueprint.
