Personally, Slayers overall sound is what I like, the guitars are magnificent on most of their albums, clean and crisp delivered with pace. Tom Araya is the better vocalist in my opinion.
However, Metallica have written way better songs, in enough numbers to form better albums. For example Ride the Lightening is genius.
