Ah, digital nostalgia
I too remember the early days of digital lossy formats. It was a confusing new world at first. I remember I would sometimes drop by IRC channels dedicated to it where you could get login info to FTPs that would share them. I also remember badly written homepages that would sometimes share songs. The internet was so much sadder back then too.
