I only ate 20-25 grams of carbs a day, and they came in the form of the small amount of carbs in protein foods like nuts and stuff. Every 2 weeks I carb-loaded for a 24ish hour period and ate my pizza and pasta and all that. But other than that 24 hour carb period, I cut my calories a few hundred below my maintenance calories to ensure I would lose weight. Then of that calorie number I ate like 65% protein, 30% fats, 5% proteins. The food wasn't too tough to adjust to. Just couldn't have the buns and breads which sucked. So I would usually make myself some cheesesteak and 4 fried eggs with melted cheese. Ate lots of beef burgers, usually topped everything with cheese and mustard. Worst part was the beverages. Basically all you can drink is water and water with Crystal Light which was hard to get used to, but I love water so I got used to it without a ton of trouble. Snacked on nuts mainly.
