Her ensemble work is quite breathtaking, too, but the actual emptiness she incorporates into her solo excursions is no less intriguing. Moments pass by, where the only musical 'themes' or 'melodies' established are a few notes in series that resonate both in the mind of the listener and the musician. Extrapolating upon that: an hour passes by, and few of the individual parts are exactly remembered. But that connection to the artist sticks around a while longer.
Something like that. Most of my appreciation for improv. music tends to border on personal anyways.
