Beatles for Sale That was maybe one of the most difficult tasks I had to do. Although The Beatles are officially the most popular band, many people only know the few (and usually overrated) classics, or just the later Psychedelic Beatles. So for the ones that find their albums too many to tackle, here's a comp. Divided them into Earlier and Later Beatles, with a Bonus comp, the musts that were released later on the Beatles Anthology (some alternate versions and unreleased material on there). I will have to thank the Seuss for uploading the comp for me as my internet connection isn't much, and I hope you'll enjoy the compilations. **Many great tracks aren't included in here, as I had to cut my favourites from 125 tracks to 50, so I'm certain a lot of many's favourites didn't make it to the comp. Early Beatles (1963-1965) She Loves You (Singles) 1962 I Want To Hold Your Hand (Singles) 1962 Do You Want To Know A Secret (Please Please Me) 1963 There's A Place (Please Please Me) 1963 Twist And Shout (Please Please Me) 1963 All My Loving (With the Beatles) 1963 Don't Bother Me (With the Beatles) 1963 Till There Was You (With the Beatles) 1963 I Don't Want to Spoil the Party (Beatles for Sale) 1964 Everybody's Trying to Be My Baby (Beatles for Sale) 1964 A Hard Day's Night (A Hard Day's Night) 1964 If I Fell (A Hard Day's Night) 1964 I'm Happy Just To Dance With You (A Hard Day's Night) 1964 And I Love Her (A Hard Day's Night) 1964 Things We Said Today (A Hard Day's Night) 1964 Help! (Help!) 1965 I've Just Seen A Face (Help!) 1965 Yesterday (Help!) 1965 Michelle (Rubber Soul) 1965 Girl (Rubber Soul) 1965 In My Life (Rubber Soul) 1965 Wait (Rubber Soul) 1965 I Feel Fine (Singles) 1965 Day Tripper (Singles) 1965 Rain (Singles) 1966 Later Beatles (1966-1970) Eleanor Rigby (Revolver) 1966 I'm Only Sleeping (Revolver) 1966 For No One (Revolver) 1966 Tomorrow Never Knows (Revolver) 1966 Fool On The Hill (Magical Mystery Tour) 1967 Blue Jay Way (Magical Mystery Tour) 1967 Your Mother Should Know (Magical Mystery Tour) 1967 I Am The Walrus (Magical Mystery Tour) 1967 Strawberry Fields Forever (Magical Mystery Tour) 1967 Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds (Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band) 1967 Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite! (Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band) 1967 A Day In The Life (Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band) 1967 While My Guitar Gently Weeps (The Beatles) 1968 Happiness Is a Warm Gun (The Beatles) 1968 Martha My Dear (The Beatles) 1968 Julia (The Beatles) 1968 Helter Skelter (The Beatles) 1968 Hey Jude (Singles) 1968 Revolution (Singles) 1968 Something (Abbey Road) 1969 Because (Abbey Road) 1969 Hey Bulldog (Yellow Submarine) 1969 Across The Universe (Let It Be) 1970 I Me Mine (Let It Be) 1970 Old Brown Shoe (Singles) 1970 Bonus Round: The Beatles Anthology Free As A Bird (Anthology 1) Cayenne (Anthology 1) The Sheik Of Araby (Anthology 1) Like Dreamers Do (Anthology 1) Besame Mucho (Anthology 1) Real Love (Anthology 2) Yes It Is (Anthology 2) I'm Looking Through You (Anthology 2) Tomorrow Never Knows (Anthology 2) Eleanor Rigby (Strings Only) (Anthology 2) Strawberry Fields Forever (Demo Sequence) (Anthology 2) Good Morning Good Morning (Anthology 2) Within You Without You (Instrumental) (Anthology 2) The Fool On The Hill (Demo) (Anthology 2) Your Mother Should Know (Anthology 2) Across The Universe (Anthology 2) Junk (Anthology 3) While My Guitar Gently Weeps (Anthology 3) Not Guilty (Anthology 3) Why Don't We Do It In The Road (Anthology 3) All Things Must Pass (Anthology 3) May you enjoy it/them.

@Pete: I didn't care for "She Says" by The Blend (not digging the awful guitar) or America Loves Gansters by CunninLynguists (this track has really annoying skipping sounds that play throughout, not sure if that's supposed to be like that...)

Forbidden Colours A Beginner's Guide To David Sylvian genre: avante-garde, ambient electronica, art-rock, minimalist jazz, folk-rock, new wave ^ It's kinda weird how obscure a good 90% of the works of the man born David Alan Batt are, what with how hard they are to find both on and offline. I mean, hell, I don't even have every official album he's been involved with myself, but the below selections account for a good propotion of the man's sound. David Sylvian then...you might have heard a Japan song or two (for whom he was the lead singer), you might have heard the oh-so familiar chimes of Forbidden Colours somewhere before, or you might be completely in the dark. What's important though is that Sylvian is one of the six singer-songwriters that I'll always put a notch or two above just about anyone else in music. Each of the other five have a sense of edge and character unique to them that gives them one over the rest in my eyes, and Sylvian is no different for me. Not only does he have what I'll always see as the joint-best voice to emerge from rock or pop music bar none (well, except the other guy), not only is he adventurous enough to stay consistently intriguing over the course of his 30-odd year professional career...well, I guess I'll let you figure the rest out. Also, it took me fucking ages to put the two below covers together and hotlink several videos to their places in the tracklisting, so it must be worth it eh Part 1: How Little We Need To Be Happy 1. I Surrender [Dead Bees On a Cake] 2. The Healing Place [Gone To Earth] 3. Epiphany [Approaching Silence] 4. Where the Railroad Meets the Sea [Gone To Earth] 5. Orpheus [Secrets Of the Beehive] 6. Red Guitar [Brilliant Trees] 7. Ink In the Well [Brilliant Trees] 8. The Shining Of Things [Dead Bees On a Cake] 9. How Little We Need To Be Happy [Blemish] 10. The Rabbit Skinner [Manafon] 11. Late Night Shopping [Blemish] 12. The Department Of Dead Letters [Manafon] 13. Forbidden Colours (the Cult Of Eurydice) [Secrets Of the Beehive] total running time: 57:02 Part 2: Giant Empty Iron Vessels 1. Premonition (Giant Empty Iron Vessels) [w/ Holger Czukay - Plight & Premonition] 2. Big Wheels In Shanty Town [Rain Tree Crow - s/t] 3. The Day the Earth Stole Heaven [Nine Horses - Snow Borne Sorrow] 4. Blackwater [Rain Tree Crow - s/t] 5. The Scent Of Magnolia [w/ Ryuichi Sakamoto - World Citizen EP] 6. All Tomorrow's Parties [Japan - Quiet Life] 7. Ghosts [Japan - Tin Drum] 8. My New Career [Japan - Gentlemen Take Polaroids] 9. The Other Side Of Life [Japan - Quiet Life] 10. Canton [Japan - Tin Drum] 11. The Banality Of Evil [Nine Horses - Snow Borne Sorrow] 12. Nightporter [Japan - Gentlemen Take Polaroids] total running time: 78:52 ^ Pics = linksies. Enjoy! I think it's worth mentioning that the track I named the whole comp after's just about my favourite song of all time too, so there! |

It's great that you put this compilation. I'll be checking this out as soon as possible. Thanks, just what I needed.
EDIT: I'm thinking of doing an extensive compilation(s) of Micheal Gira's work that will include all of his projects: Swans (of course), Skin, Angels of Light, Body Lovers/Body Haters and solo stuff. I think it's fitting, since Swans have a new album coming out after 13 years. If anyone is interested in checking that out (those that are not familiar with his work), I warn you, it'll take a while. And my upload speed is crap, but I can do it. I'll be persistent.

Just downloaded the first half on a whim. My internet connection is too slow atm to check out the YT videos, so I'm doing this purely on chance.
Your description of it was very interesting though, and I'm looking forward to hearing it.
