I know we all can be critical sometimes, but any comp is better than no comp and I love noise rock so that sounds groovy...

'Lacquer Head' is considered sort of a return-to-form song for Primus so it's easily my favorite off of Antipop, and 'Pudding Time' is a classic Primus tune...

The Beginner's Guide To...

Primus

To Defy The Laws Of Tradition
Mrs. Blaileen
John The Fisherman
Lacquer Head
Tommy The Cat (Live)
Too Many Puppies
My Name Is Mud
Shake Hands With Beef
Jerry Was A Race Car Driver
Those Damned Blue-Collar Tweekers
DMV
Mr. Knowitall
Wynona's Big Brown Beaver
Welcome To This World
Fish On

Primus sucks!

With Primus announcing a late summer tour and possibly a return to the studio, it seems like the right time to make a Primus comp. I have included 15 tracks that span each of Primus's six studio albums, including one track off of their live debut, Suck On This ('Tommy The Cat' is their most legendary live song). Their later material is sampled less because it is less to my liking and honestly lower quality. I'm more of a Frizzle Fry/Sailing The Seas of Cheese guy too so Pork Soda isn't focused on as much. Enjoy!

Math Rock

[CENTER]

"Math Rock is a relatively new sub-genre of rock music, characterized by complex, atypical rhythms (often including irregular stopping and starting), frequent use of irregular time-signatures, and dissonant, angular guitars. Math rock peaked in the mid-’90s, when groups like Polvo and Chavez had small but dedicated followings among indie rockers on college campuses.

It is related to post-rock, a result of a shared scene of origin. There are differences to be noted between early post-rock and math-rock as well, though: whereas post-rock has distinct jazz influences, math rock is more dense and complex, filled with difficult time signatures and intertwining phrases. The style is a little more ‘rockist’ than post-rock, since it’s usually played by small, guitar-led bands."

Track/Band
For Respect - Don Caballero (aka Don Cab)
My Black Ass - Shellac
You Don't Have To Kick It - We Versus The Shark
Blue Fly Green Fly - Sleeping People
Look A Ghost - Unwound
Nailed To The Blank Spot - Chavez
Captain Caveman - Lightning Bolt
The Most Trustworthy Tin Cans - Maps & Atlases
Golden Brown - Drive Like Jehu
Sure Shot - Polvo
Tonto - Battles
Emilie Sagée's Secret - Giraffes? Giraffes!
Republic Of Rough And Ready - Hella
Little Bubble, Where You Going - Piglet
Good Morning, Captain - Slint

I'm aware some bands like Drive Like Jehu are kind of iffy when it comes to labeling them as Math Rock but I still thought it fit well. Same goes for lightning bolt, I just threw in my favorite song of theirs for ****s.

Don't be on a music forum with opinions then if you don't want to hear. Do you like Nick Drake? Obviously yes, so why worry what I think?
