you're right jackhammer, i really should've put in Backwoods, this was made on the fly, so there were some tracks that i overlooked that i could put in here(i.e. Johnny Kick a Hole In the Sky, Me and My Friends, etc.).
still, in all honesty, i HATE Get Up and Jump. it's probably the one song from them that i can barely listen to, and it wasn't on my computer in the first place, so i ommited it from this comp. but i'm probably being to hasty, i'll try to find it and give it another listen. maybe all of that hate has subsided by then. and yeah Grand Pappy Du Plenty doesn't fit with the rest of their songs, but that's part of the reason why i chose it. i wanted to show that if they wanted to, the Chilis could be able to turn their whole sound around, even on the first album. plus the calming nature of it felt to me like a breath of fresh air right before you get back into the insanity. i really wanted to add their best covers cause these guys have some of the most consistently good covers i've seen of any band i listened to. they really were able to take these groups and artists songs, which were already classic, and make them an own part of their canon. anyway, i'll take both your comments into consideration and i could have a fresh compilation up but i can't really make and upload a new compilation now because i have school pretty soon, but i'll try to get to it as soon as i get home.

HOW CAN YOU HATE 'GET UP AND JUMP'!?!? I thought you play bass? That song has a crazy fast bass line and one of my favorites of all-time. Maybe you have the demo version? The updated version is *much* better: And 'Grand Pappy Du Plenty' just isn't a good song. I like what you were trying to do, but there is a reason why they didn't have many soft songs on their early albums, and it's because they didn't do them well (they still aren't very good at it haha)... |

oh my mistake, i've got it now.
if this doesn't work then screw everything because i don't know what else i could do after this Mastodon Beginners Guide to Mastodon.zip Jimi Hendrix Jimi Hendrix Comp.zip Quote:
but now that i listen to it, it's not too bad, but it's still not something i love. i can agree, though, that it's something that would be pretty good on the comp. i'll get it on there this time. Quote:
but yeah anyway i'll start fixing up the RHCP comp and i'll have the new one up in a few minutes.

I did this because I've not done one in ages, plus I wanted to prove Jackhammer wrong about there being no good punk pop
The Redd Kross Compilation 1. Clorox Girls 2. Annette's Got the Hits 3. Standing In Front Of Poseur From the 1980 Red Cross E.P. 4. Linda Blair 5. White Trash 6. Notes & Chords Mean Nothing to Me From the 1983 Born Innocent album 7. Citadel (Rolling Stones Cover) 8. Heaven Only Knows (Shangri-Las Cover) From the 1984 Teen Babes From Monsanto album 9. Neurotica 10. Janus, Jeanie & George Harrison 11. Ballad Of A Love Doll From the 1987 Neurotica album 12. Annie's Gone 13. 1976 From the 1990 Third Eye album 14. Jimmy's Fantasy 15. Huge Wonder 16. After School Special From the 1993 Phaseshifter album 17. Pretty Please Me 18. Follow the Leader From the 1997 Show World album LINK Redd Kross were formed in 1978 by the brothers Jeff & Steve McDonald while they were still at school. their first ever gig was supporting Black Flag and they went on to play with most of the hardcore bands around from that era. They recorded their debut EP in 1980 while Jeff & Steve were only 15 & 13 years old. They became known for playing fast punk rock influenced by 60s throwaway pop & 70s glam rock, in 1983 they finally recorded their debut album Born Innocent and the covers album Teen Babes From Monsanto the following year. After many line up changes the band changed direction to a more hard rock style with the same pop & glam rock influences and recorded Neurotica in 1987. In 1990 they signed a major label deal and went on to record 3 albums filled with awesome catchy rock songs but still didn't get the attention they deserved, and in 1998 they finally split up. They've been playing some re-union shows over the past couple of years and have apparently been working on new material. The Red Cross EP & Teen Babes From Monsanto have never been released on CD so you'll have to put up with vinyl rips from those i'm afraid. Don't let the fact there's 18 songs put you off, the first 10 barely clock in at 20 minutes combined. Edit: Neurotica cuts out halfway through for some reason. Here's the full song... http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZP4Y71W8
