And even regular series that are not hentai there is mature subjects brought up like incest and pedophilia, you got otakus watching some series simply because they have a loli obsession Even action series or mecha series are ecchi as well and even though they are supposed to be for a mature audience, that mature audience tends to be 12 to 13 yrs kids who are now used to seeing all the crazy **** anime exposes without even flinching. And yes they do have a standard but it's not the same as the american standard, their culture is different and so are they fetishes and anime exposes those fetishes without much censorship.

I really do not understand all of you that are coming to this thread, and pointing out that they're a manufactured band. they're cheesy, they're this or they're that. It is no secret that this band was put together by label executives. The three girls have openly expressed that, or at least I've read from several sources that it is no secret.
They're a manufactured group. Really no point, in pointing it out over and over again, as if it'll change anything. This band is not meant to be taken seriously. A lot of you think this is garbage music, you want to express that in vulgar ways to make sure you get your point across. Cool beans. But the band is here. And they're going to be around until the hype dies down, which won't be anytime soon. So hold on for the ride. |

Yeah, but that's mostly been in the area of left-field, experimental metal bands. To me, the main point of metal is that it's louder than other forms of rock. So the main impetus for metal was making it heavier, faster, and/or more aggressive than the bands before. We kind of reached the high point in the nineties. You're not really gonna get much more brutal than death metal, or faster than grindcore, or heavier than Electric Wizard (well, maybe, but not to any profound degree), so outside of wild experimentation the main goal of metal has kind of been reached. Sure that's an over-simplification, but it's still somewhat true. There are plenty of good death/black/doom/thrash/whatever metal bands out there, but they're all pretty much retreading the same territory, so I'd say that metal is definitely stale from a creative standpoint.

Though im not a fan of Babymetal or any idol group i like how they admit they're manufactured in America manufactured groups have to down play that sorta thing cause its viewed as shameful YET they are not opposed to manufacturing stars on shows like American idol.
I prefer when artist write and try to do their own thing but oddly enough i have more respect for a group that openly states they're manufactured over one who is also manufactured but avoids admitting it to get more artistic cred. i think the american music industry and the Asian music industry work in similar ways but the difference is that Asians are open about their bullsh*t. I feel the mindset over there is like: "YES, these are manufactured groups made to exploit popular music genres and get your money. Buy it if you like if not don't but this is the truth" i like that kind of honesty even if im not a fan of their product cause they don't underestimate their consumers.

I'm not even really taking this whole thread seriously, or our conversation for that matter anyway. If you want my opinion on Babymetal. Here it is. I'm not at all one that approves or thinks a manufactured band holds any merit at all. They're paid to be a part of a traveling act. While the musicians playing behind the three girls aren't half bad, they still partake in being active members in Babymetal. I would be interested in checking out music they make outside of Babymetal. Probably wouldn't be half bad. But. Babymetal is not at all my thing. Kind of boring. So I'm completely with you on not listening to manufactured bands. |
