Tiffany - "I think we're alone now" (a cover song)

I used to love singing this song when I first heard it! It's just so catchy and I liked the idea of these two people running off and enjoying their privacy together.

Toni Basil - "Oh Mickey"

I loved loved loved this song when it first came out. And I *still* love it. I think if I were allowed to pick only a few songs to listen to for the rest of my life, this would be one of them. I love how she sings it! The song used to really make me wish I'd meet someone who made me feel like the woman feels about Mickey!

J. Geils Band - "Centerfold"

I listened to this song intently when I first heard it in Junior High. I liked the line about those "soft, fuzzy sweaters, too magical to touch" and all the humor in the song. I also like the line, "It's okay, I understand. This ain't no Never Neverland." I remember a gym full of Junior High classmates singing in our prison-like, blue and white striped gym outfits, "Na na na na na na." Memories!

I've never actually heard the original, Love-song! It's quite good.

I also didn't realize that the group sang the following song I always liked. My main memory of this song is from college when listeners added in a few extra words of their own at strategic moments within the song:

Tommy James and the Shondells - 'Mony Mony'

Sorry for mentioning her again here on MB, but my princess of pop is Kate Bush! I consider her to be head, shoulders, stomach, pelvis and knees above Britney. Possibly ankles too!

Wuthering Heights was the first chart-topping pop single written and performed by a female artist in the UK.

I remember her from the review/write up you did on her.

I do have to agree that she is miles ahead of Britney but sorry to say she doesn't deserve the Princess of Pop title.

Kate Bush deserves the title of the Queen.
