unfortunate grammar mistake. heard the track with Kendrick, sounded decent, but at the same time my willingness to listen to anything remotely close to EDM at the moment is at an all time low due to over exposure from my flatmate's speakers.

I'm personally enjoying the hell out of this record, better than Los Angeles, and maybe Until The Quiet Comes. But not better than Cosmogramma.

Have been listening to it pretty steadily for the last few weeks since the early October leaks. I've found myself starting the album at Turkey Dog Coma most times, the first 6 tracks don't really do much for me. I really like when Lotus dives into his little psychedelic cascading free-jazz sections (Moment of Hesitation especially), the second half of the album felt a lot more adventurous in that way. As a whole, even with the friendlier tracks at the front of the album, it's pretty damn cohesive front to back, the more segue sections are really enjoyable. Siren Song was probably my favourite track, love those really deep swirly hits behind the panning vocals.

I'm perfectly familiar with Flying Lotus' sound. It's just I have no desire to listen to him. If you've heard one of his albums, you've heard them all. |

I suppose? His records share similar jazz fusion-esque qualities, but to write his albums off as all sounding and feeling too familiar, well I'd just have to disagree with you there partner. Theirs enough varied tracks on each record to keep the same type of formula different.

My friend played a little Flying Lotus in the car yesterday. Once I got over the oddness of it it kind of felt like a gimmick. The rapper wasn't particularly interesting most of the time, and I was just left with hip hop beats over jazz that didn't seem all that different from anything I could find on an actual jazz album. I may warm up over time, as it might be music that could reveal more of itself over time, but at the moment I am dubious and unimpressed.
