Default Kiiii Presents: The Mysterious and Sometimes Beautiful Things Music Can Do To You

For me, when it comes to music, I want the music to be able to pull onto me, dangle at my heart strings, and just make me feel feeling. Although I imagine this particular idea would work really well as its own thread, I personally have a lot of songs that I go back to when I just want to let it take me away. The reason for the title is nothing else than something clever to draw you in. This thread will be me simply talking about songs, or albums, or whatever that can just grab you and take you places you've never been before.

The other thing we will be discussing here of course are those songs that make you feel truly sad, to the extent that they can make you cry. Or maybe there are songs that are beautifully written that they make you feel happy and sad at the same time. Well, i'll be talking about that too. And yes, that does include one hit pop wonders from the 90's. We all grew up with them, there's absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.

Perhaps the main reason I'm starting this thread is because of this particular song right here. Straight off of Devin Townsend's "Ghost" we have...well the song Ghost. This song recently has done something to me that didn't really happen to me as much before. I was walking to work one day, and I put this song on. Suddenly I was in a different world, a different universe free of anything that can distract me or take me down. It was as if I completely disassociated from myself. But the reason for it was the song itself. Now when I listen to this song, it happens. My mind goes into itself and brings itself away for a while. Often times I feel like I'm floating. This song is magical.

I don't know what it is about this song...

Either it's the beat, the lyrics, the music, or everything. Something about Daniel Bedingfield's If You're Not The One always hits me deep. Like really deep. Deeper than most if not all songs can do. The way he brings out in his voice throughout truly makes it something special. It's definitely in my favorite songs of all time I'm sure, even if I don't talk about it music. I mean....these lyrics:

Quote:
I don't know why you're so far away,
But I know that this much is true,
We'll make it through,
And I hope you are the one I share my life with,
And I wish that you could be the one I die with,
And I pray in you're the one I build my home with,
I hope I love you all my life
Along with Ryan Cabrera's True (Which I will also be discussing here, this song always gets put on repeat. Without fail.)

Along with Daniel Bedingfeld's track I mentioned earlier, Ryan Cabrera's True has been a non stop repeat song for me for the past couple weeks. For good reason of course.

I mean, just look at these lyrics:

Quote:
You might think I don't look
But deep inside, in the corner of my mind
I'm attached to you, mmm
I'm weak, it's true
Cause I'm afraid to know the answer
Do you want me too?
Cause my heart keeps falling faster
It's an unbelievably beautiful song.
