That's weird, because that's what I always hope for in all my journals. Doesn't happen as much as I'd like, but I love to discuss/argue with someone about how they hate my music and I like to defend it when I can. Occasionally, someone will actually like something I review, but whether those incidents happen in the real world or are dreams I can't really remember.

I'd support this, admittedly knowing nothing about this sort of music, but as you know I listened to it in an attempt to defend Ki, and had to agree it was awful. Boring is definitely a word I would use.

I understand that you like it, but what about it exactly do you like?
Watch out, Ki: he's trying to turn you into another Trollheart, and we do NOT want that!!!

Seriously though, I know I go on for way too long about my music, but I enjoy writing about it and often wonder why, when an album hits you so hard, you don't go into a little more detail than "I like it". Still, it's your journal so you do as you want. It is hard, however, to defend your music when there's no written evidence of why you think it's so great.

A third front has been opened. Ki's flank is exposed and he must retreat or risk destruction.

Typically what I've always assumed with journals is that if it's been thrown into a journal, it's evident by that alone that the person writing about it likes the music or wants to talk about it in some way or another. Or I want to talk about it upon first listen. I don't really see a reason to justify putting it in my journal when the journal itself is a place for music that I either really like, or heavily dislike. I've gone in depth already to answer the question as to why I like Travis Scott. I was under the assumption that the constant discussion about him in this journal and my hip hop journal would have been enough to give off the impression that I'm a fan. I don't see anybody else getting criticized in their journals about their tastes. If this were a Travis Scott specific thread, I'd lean more towards your reasoning.

Once again, I go back to the point that my music journal or w/e is a place where I will put albums I really like, or talk about an artist I really like, in a more formal setting as opposed to making a thread about that artist. That should suffice, but apparently I've been under false assumptions. I'm not going to change the way I format my journal. So if people want to rail me on that, so be it. I don't have to justify why I listen to what I listen to when it being in my journal should be enough to justify it.

And no written evidence? I've talked about Travis Scott more than any other artist in any journal as far as I can tell. My album of the year lists etc should give off the impression of my feeling toward his music alone.

I'm not going to write an entire essay as to why I like the music. That to me is 1) a waste of time and 2) completely and utterly ridiculous. You do that because it fits your setting, but everyone isn't meant to mimic your standard for a journal.

If you want a journal with no interaction with your readers then don't be surprised if people stop reading. But if you welcome discussion then also don't be surprised if someone ****s on you.

Let me put it another way. Saying how much you like music rather than actually talking about music is not interesting. It's two-dimensional, lazy, and boring. You claim to be a writer? Then write. Show some personality.

The point I'm making here is that (and I have to assume everyone feels more or less the same way, as I have only my own experience to draw on, but looking at the journals of others does seem to support this) when you make a journal, your primary goal is to get people to read. If not, then why are you bothering? Just write about it at home and show it to nobody. Again I stress that I write a) primarily to express my love of/hate of/interest in a particular artiste, b) to see if anyone else is interested in them and if I can get them to be if not and c) to initiate conversations with people. That's fine if you don't want that, but as Batty says, if you put it out there then expect people to comment. It's a little like Sequiodathing going on some time ago about how people discovered his music online, were complimenting him on it and he was pissed off, saying "that's only for me". Well, if so, don't post it where others can see it, because if you do that you're opening yourself up to comment, which is what the whole forum is about.

Let me ask you this, Ki: if you made a thread, would you be a) annoyed or b) happy if someone responded to it? A journal is just, as it says in the rules, a thread you own. It's not somewhere to hide, feverishly scribble down stuff you hope nobody will see, and then get upset when they do. You can do that, but it's a bit counterproductive in my opinion. I believe journals are meant to be a) somewhere you can write about stuff you love (or hate) and b) somewhere you can get criticism on, input to or comments on your writing. My door's always open; yours, it would appear, you would rather lock. Again, that's up to you but you are, I believe, the exception. Everyone else here (ask them) would be happy to get discussion going on one of their favourite subjects, and to know people are reading their journal. It's what, I believe, we strive for. Who wants to write and have nobody read their journal? Other than you, I mean.

As for writing a whole ****load of stuff, well that's just me. I like to express what I like (or don't like) about whatever I'm writing about, be it an album, film or TV show or comic, or anything else. My main journal's number of views shows at least that people are reading, and no, I did not mess with the clock. How dare you suggest such a thing?

Even if someone doesn't write a lot, like say Mordor, people like to discuss the posts, as you'll see in his journal, and he has no problem expanding on any album or artiste. So nobody is saying you have to write tons on every album, game or whatever you review, but if someone is interested (positively or negatively) then you need to be prepared to enter into discussion. I've had rows with people here about various albums or things I've written about. It doesn't really bother me; in the end, any comment, good or bad, inane or deep, is proof someone is reading what I'm writing, and I'm happy with that.

If you'd really rather there was no discussion in your journal (though I can't think why) maybe you should put this in the OP, otherwise people are naturally going to expect that their participation is not only allowed but invited.

I think it was either in this journal or my arcade one, but I remember talking about a symphony that covered Pokemon music. Well, there's some symphonies for Zelda music as well.

The more famous one that I'm sure most people have heard is probably...

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Hyrule Symphony

This one is quite good. It has a total of 13 tracks, and takes on tracks in symphony form like Gerudo Valley, Hyrule Field, and Hyrule Castle among others. Basically, if you're a fan of the more memorable Zelda songs from Ocarina of Time, this is the one you want.

The Marcus Hedges Trend Orchestra - Ocarina of Time Symphony

On the other hand, 2016 continued to be a great year for music. And to my surprise, another symphony took on the throne of making some truly fantastic pieces based around Ocarina of Time. The Marcus Hedges Trend Orchestra version of the Ocarina of Time soundtrack is certainly worth listening to.

I don't post in this journal as much as I used to because I simply don't really like talking about albums. But, something I do want to do in this journal is something that should have been inevitable. It won't be happening for another month while I prepare, but at least this'll give you something to look forward to.

Now, this particular theme month isn't going to work the same as the others. I'm not going to shower you with absurdly long album reviews for the sake of it, though I will talk about albums. Instead, I'm going to try to make this as random and scattered as Kanye's writing styles. It's pretty known by now that I love The Life of Pablo as a whole, and that album as scattered as ****. I plan to make the journal version of The Life of Pablo.

Again, this isn't happening until May, but best get excited now. It's going to be a lot of fun.

There's something to be said about not listening to a band that I didn't know existed. If you weren't aware, Ghost have really made a name for themselves in the modern times of music. When the "hits" are the ones that make radio time, bands like Ghost are not widely noticed. However, they make some great **** that needs to be noticed.

Plug has been a sanctuary of great music lately. Something about getting the right group of people together that all have great taste. It's really been somewhat of a beautiful experience these past few weeks. Getting to know members like Chio, Matrix, and others. What comes along with this is the fact that I'll hear music that I haven't really heard. If you guys don't know, Matrix loves Ghost (GHOST), and he's been playing it in plug. And I gotta say, props to him. I've caught the Ghost (GHOST) bug. I've so far listened to Meliora and Infestissumam regularly and I really don't have many complaints.

It's common knowledge that I'm a fan of Anathema, Katatonia, and the like. Well, Ghost (GHOST) does the same thing they do, somewhat the same and somewhat better. I'm constantly hearing the deep guitar chords with the wonderful vocals mixed in, and man it works. I can certainly see why Matrix loves these guys.
