Pandora's Box!
(I think this is the proper way I should start a journal. Bare with me if it isn't and eventually I will get the hang of this...)
Pandora's Box: In desperate need of a place to vent my thought's on the albums, that are destroying my very existence, I am forced to start a journal...I hope you like what is in here, and take some killer **** with you when you go..(If you don't shame on you...) We Are Trees:Girlfriend EP Ladies and Gentlemen please extinguish all smoking material until the album has come to a complete stop... There are no exits so you will be here for the duration... *cough*...... 1. Teenage Heart Break: A haunting little ditty, that reminds me of lazily sprawling over, endless sketch pads, and day dreaming whislt the smoke in my bed room faded out with the sunlight... The vocal harmonies from beginning to end of the song are particularly on point in creating a fog of hazy memories of teenage longing, love, and desire for the object of your affections... ( I would recommend this track to anybody looking to spend a lazy afternoon lost in the halls of memory...) 2.Colorado: Probably my least favorite track on the album, when played in secession with the rest of the album I feel it's a filler and no more... Bridging the gap between Teenage Heart Break and Girlfriend... The middle section of the song, is a bit beefier then the beginning and has the ability to hold ones attention for longer then 2 seconds...Not a bad song by any means, just kinda meh... 3: Girlfriend: "Talk to me girl, I never wanted it to end this way with you..." Raw emotion and ,anguish drowns the song making it virtually impossible to do anything else but shut up and listen... The swelling of the guitar and the rattle of the tambourine, is like indie crack to the tortured soul... OBEY! Listen, then listen again..I have always agreed that a tune doesn't need to be lyrically complex to blow your socks off... And here is the proof.. 4:You: So exquisite in it's opening, I can say that everything is in it's right place, from the light touching of cymbals, snare, melody, and vocals... And it comes in right on time, because after obeying the aforementioned call of Girlfriend, you will need an equalizer in your emotional arsenal... 5: I don't Believe in Love: The most popped out tune on the record...Also a great closing song. It makes a statement, lyrically, as well as musically...It leaves you wanting more from them as artists in the respect that, even if you didn't enjoy the record for whatever the reasons you obviously made up in your head, it tells you there is so much more to them as musicians that you can't help but look up their Boyfriend EP ;P

LSD And The Search For God:The entire review might come in blocks you guys... Because I am just so ****ing blown away by the record as a whole, and I don't have scalpel handy to be able to carefully dissect all the tracks and album structure as whole...So we are going to take it one song at a time...WARNING: DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES PRESS PLAY UNLESS YOU HAVE 2 HOURS OF YOUR DAY AVAILABLE TO TRANSCEND THE LEVELS OF CONSCIOUSNESS IN YOUR HUMANOID BRAIN!!See that picture above? Pack your bags cause that is where you are going... Pack lightly because time moves differently there... Starting Over: Is the name of this gem, and it opens with sloppy guitar riffs, and lazy clangs, that put you somewhere on a beach staring at your frilly drink that has an umbrella in it...as it moves on to the meat and bones of the song, you hear a woman's voices...... calling you, willing you to go with her, to where guitars melt, and distortion is the one TRUE VOICE OF GOD! As you go with her on this journey, either against your will or because you know you should, you discover a wondrously lush, under melody filled with everything you could ever imagine, fuzz, hiss, echo, in essence a trip heads melodic wet dream.... Everything about this tune is perfect, and in sync...I have no complaints other then it's really really putting a damper on me doing the **** I need to do today.. I hope you love it as much as I do...(A VERY BIG THANK YOU TO MONDO, for this one...And I think I might agree sir, this record bitch slapped the taste right outta Loveless (MBV) mouth...) Well Played and hat's off to you my friend...

Witch:Seer ('06)Should have graced the stages in strip joints all across America! Sadly I am afraid that is not the case..From the second your fingers hit play, you can literally smell the fog machines musty clouds, and day old smoke lingering in the humid air. You can see the glare from the stage lights, and feel your wallet getting lighter and lighter...Two words! Bass Line.... And this one is pure sex, laced up in a leather corset of rhythm.. Vocally the artist conveys two points through out this 7 minute long ode to exotic dancers everywhere which is, "I want you!!!" and "Now!!!" You feel the thrill of anticipation, the restlessness of the wait to get what you want, and sweet ecstasy of release... And this is rather amusing because this song has nothing to do with strippers, bars or sex... I am merely conveying the journey this song took me on... What good is music if you are still bound by the constraints of day to day monotony, and your imagination has no room to cast it's spell? I would recommend this song to strippers, (Obviously! Mind it will take one hell of a woman to do this justice..) stoners, bikers, and anyone that enjoys a little something harder, then pop music, and top 40 hogwash... Not the greatest song I have ever heard. Parts of it are pedestrian, and generic at times..But as whole, it deserves a place on this naughty girl's play list... I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I did...

Well done girl, I have to do music reviewing in class from now on. I'm sure no one will notice me blasting my music while pretending to type code.

I like this, Roxy, as I've been feeling a deep urge lately to smash my head on the indie rock. And your odd use of punctuation, anti-grammar, and onomatopoeia works really well here in the members journal format.
No fair comparing Loveless to albums made 15 years later though. Still.... KEEP it up

If I listen to a song and it screams indie rock at me. I feel like that song has to prove itself more than anything else I listen to. I criticize it more and expect for it to break out of the typical indie rock mold and We Are Trees fail to do that.
A little advice I would give you is that before you post your entry. Look at it by previewing the post and seeing if that's the format you want for it with regards to having pictures off to the side and no spacing in certain areas.

Thanks for the constructive criticism guys... Truth be told, I knew that picture was gigantic, but I loved it none the less and deemed it worthy of being in Pandora's Box... So zip it, sit back and enjoy it... Often times words fail me, so art is how I speak, whether it's musically, poetically, or actual paintings..Get used to it... (It's my journal if you don't like it get the **** up off my roof top... Seriously though I do appreciate the constructive criticism I have broad shoulders, I can take it... )
