Don Cherry
OK, after listening to 'Symphony For Improvisers', and 'Oreint' I'm pretty much sealed in the concept of assuming that this man not only a well accredited Jazz God, but an exceptionally noteworthy musician in general. A man who, during his time, was extremely well sought out. Working with names like Ornette Coleman, and Coletrane. Also a very strong element in the sound of my hero in all music, Sun Ra.
However, not to overlook his solo work with his ingenious really formula breaking jazz which floors me on listen:

Not sure, I've only heard the two I mentioned and 'the Avant-Garde' which is an ok album but definitely not as interesting as th other two.

Well, here`s the title track from Brown Rice, which, despite the video date, was actually recorded in 1975. Not sure where that places it in terms of his musical career, though: -
PS, I`ve just worked out that you are the artist formally known as Skaligojura. Congratulations on the facelift ! |

I like that, I'm putting it as my subname.
I also really REALLY like that song. Edit: Damn... it's too long.

35 minutes? that's usually a length of a track for the man. Still, that's why I love him.
