Their debut album was fantastic, Favourite worst Nightmare was almost as good. From there their stuff didn't quite have the same effect on me. I only really listen to any of the later songs for Alex Turner's lyrics & voice, which I think are possibly the best in the industry at the moment.
From Ritz To Rumble & 505 are some of my favourite songs from this century.

Ahh, I thought that was The Rascals. From what I have heard I don't care for it.

I don't get the big fuss about the Arctic Monkeys, I never warmed to them.

Arctic monkeys for me have got stronger and stronger with each album, unlike say The Strokes, their Debut album hasn't dragged them down.

Suck it and See was a great record that maybe suffered from releasing Brick by Brick as its first taster instead of one of its poppier tracks and its track order then anything else having a fast start and slow ending did put a few off. But tracks like The title track, Shalala,Reckless sernade, That's were your wrong, Black treacle and Piledriver Waltz are as good as anything they have done. Don't sit down and All my own stunts are great rockers. Plus B-sides Evil twin and You and I are album worthy tracks.

R U Mine is their best single since Crying lighting.

Humbug is a masterpiece, Favourite worst nightmare is probably better then their debut and Whatever people say.. is their stamp on British music.

I think Alex Turner is probably Britains best songwriter right now and in Mat Helders, they have the best drummer around. I think along with Radiohead, Muse and Kasabian they are one of the few class British bands around.

No i agree with you. i think Suck it and see is a masterpiece that sadly be looked down by some cause its not like their debut and Humbug is their true classic. It was a grower which didn't go down well with the followers who wanted more songs about drink, nightclubs and chatting up a girl. They lost a major part of their fanbase but gained their musical freedom and can go anywhere they want too. I think this peroid will get its due in the next few years or when they split.

I listened to Favourite Worst Nightmare and now I think that's my second favorite.
