1. What were your VERY FIRST impressions on listening to the album, say from the first five minutes in?
I was a bit hesitant. 2. What did you think of the opening track? It was alright. 3. What did you think of the next track? It was good. 4. Did you like the vocalist? Hate him/her? Any impressions? (see note 1) Not bad. She used auto-tune, or whatever they use to modulate the vocals. I am not a fan of it, but I think they employed it better than most do. 5. Did the music (only) generally appeal to you, or not? (see note 2) Somewhat. 6. Did the album get better or worse as you listened to it (first time)? I actually thought it got better as it went on. It kept my interest. 7. What did you think of the lyrical content? I didn't really pay too much attention to the lyrics. It's probably aimed at teenagers. 8. Did you like the instrumental parts? (see note 3) I dig'd it. 9. What did you think of the production? Not bad, not bad at all. 10. Did you know of this artiste prior to listening to the album, and if so, did that foreknowledge colour your perception of this album? No, I didn't know the artist, and I guess I was a bit reluctant to dive into an album, but I gave it a listen any way. I spent a lot of time with Goofle in plug.dj and I am familiar with his taste in music, I kinda knew what to expect. So maybe having a positive opinion of Goofle and his music coloured my perspective a bit. 11. Is this, generally, the kind of music you listen to or not? No, not really. However there are elements in the music that would be stuff I listen to. I forget what track it is but the backing track sounded like a slow-down version of music by Crystal Copy. 12. Assuming you listened to the album more than once, on repeated listens, did you find you liked the album more, or less? Only listen to it once. 13. What would you class as your favourite track(s), if you have any? Maybe Amsterdam?? 14. And the one(s) you liked least? None I can think of. 15. If the album in question is a debut, did that fact allow it, in your mind, any leeway, and if so, was that decision justified or vindicated? (see note 4) It is the second album. I think she escaped the Sophomore Jinx most bands are burdened with. 16. Are you now looking forward to hearing more from this artiste, if you have not heard any of their other material? Maybe. 17. Were you surprised by your reaction - positive or negative - to the album? I spent a lot of time with Goofle Back plug.dj when it was more active. So I know kinda what to expect. So I was surprised he rec another good album. The man is on fire! 18. Did the album end well? Yeah, I think it did/ 19. Do you see any way the album could have been improved? Less auto-tune. Maybe a tad bit faster pace on some tracks. 20. Do you think the album hung together well, ie was a fully cohesive unit, or was it a bit hit-and-miss? Yeah, a decent album to put on and do whatever. Rating: ★★★★ What can I say I liked it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I knew I was going to hate this from the first nasal, heavily auto-tuned seconds. The the beat started and I changed my mind no I'm just kidding. I knew this was going to be punishing.
1. Colours The verse melody is ripping off some old disco tune or something but I can't remember which. I hate the dumb lyrics, the autotuned vocals, the boring non-hook of a chorus and the lame, low-effort club beat. "I want your rainbow love love love - I want your rainbow love love love". I want a barf bag. 2. Amsterdam This is everything I hate about club music. Everything. Nothing about this is even remotely bearable. 3. Beauty & a Beast I really can't stand the singer. She's awful. Ah, ok, so the beauty and the beast is the same person. You see, she's beautiful, but also a beast in bed. My mind is blown. "Raawwwrrr" oh shut up. 4. DJ's Girlfriend From the very first second: Nope. Just no. 5. Is That You Is this what they call trap? I'm not sure. Also a vague hint of dubsteb. Still crap, of course. 6. No bueno Exactly. 7. Jump out the Window Don't tempt me. 8. Hocus Pocus Less annoying, but still yawn. I miss Rebecca Black. 9. Shade Argh! What is up with that corny lead melody in the beginning?! Is this trying to make me grind my teeth? 10. Soopermodel Seriously! I can't do this anymore! No bull****. This is incredibly annoying music and. I. HATE. it. 11. I Like it Loud I didn't refer to Rebecca Black before entirely as a joke. I fail to see how this is any better at all. It might be worse. 12. Taking Over the Dancefloor Set this album to half the speed and play it in reverse and I'm convinced it would be an improvement. This is music for mouth breathing bro dudes with reverse caps on doing beer bongs. That one was a joke. I don't hold liking this against anyone but I really, really, really cannot stand it myself. The bit about reversing it was no joke. It would absolutely make this cringefest less annoying. 13. So Unforgettable That sounds like a threat. 14. Follow Me Sorry, Nadia, never again. Made it one time through and I will never hear this again if I can help it. 1/10 but I want to be childish and say -10/10. Hated every cursed second. Sorry Goofle, so, so sorry. |
