Title: Something wicked this way comes
Artiste: Iced Earth
Genre: Heavy Metal
Familiarity: Zero

Track 1(Love) Good hard rockin' track to get us underway; like the vocals
Track 2(Love) Love the soft acoustic start but of course it kicks off a moment later. Slows down again though. Very Iron Maiden I feel.
Track 3(Love) Flies along at breakneck speed, lot of energy and aggression. Absolutely love the slow organ line which keeps pace with the snarling, driving guitars.
Track 4(Love) Another acoustic-y opening, sounds like it may be an actual ballad. Or, you know, not. Great vocal harmonies. Brilliant hook.
Track 5(Love) Back to speed metal territory; rockin' along with a will.
Track 6(Love) I'll probably be fooled again, but this definitely sounds like a ballad. Lovely reflective guitar work. Well it does again speed up, though not as much as other tracks here which I had tagged as ballads. Great vocal. Excellent guitar outro.
Track 7(Love) Really going for the machinegun guitar feel in this one!
Track 8(Love) Very anthemic; like the ominous vocal
Track 9(Love) Excellent, powerful instrumental
Track 10(Love) Something almost progressive about this...
Track 11(Love) Seems to retain the guitar motif from the previous track, at least at the beginning. These three last tracks apparently reference the “Something Wicked Saga” and this one ends with an ominous ticking clock then the hour being struck
Track 12(Love) A real headbanger, with another great hook in it
Track 13(Love) Lovely piano intro, then the guitars break through and we're away. Very epic, and the longest on the album. It does end VERY abruptly though (does it continue in the next album, like, note for note? Cos this just cuts right off.)

End result: Brilliant album, enjoyed every bit of it. This is what Metal is all about to me.

So, Love or Hate? Serious Love for this album

Chances of a full review: 8/10

You put my artist name as 'Deaf Aid Society', and while it's really amusing, I think you must have mixed it up with Daydream Society. It's actually 'The Deaf Aids'.

Figured Iced Earth would be a no-brainer.

Edit: I forget if I've had you listen to Blind Guardian. If not, then they're going on your list when you're taking recs again.

Sorry. At least you and YorkeDaddy don't need to worry what band name you'll use when you get around to that collaboration...

I've listened to Nightfall in Middle Earth but that's about it. Seem like a really cool band.

Very curious what you'll think of Kill The Moonlight.
